The Ascendant
The credits are the halfway point.
What it is
You finish what you start, and then you finish it properly. The last trophy is the real ending, and you usually get there. A game isn’t done when the credits roll. It’s done when there’s nothing left to do, and the list says so.
How it plays
- You check the trophy list before you buy the game.
- The missable collectible is the one you got.
- You’ll replay forty hours for one trophy, and you’ll enjoy the last ten.
- A game at 97% is a problem you’ll fix this weekend.
- You finish games in order. Starting a second one is a decision.
How we read it
- A high finish rate across your library.
- Games with every trophy earned, the ones at 100%.
- Several games past 80%, and trophies that say you don’t leave much behind.
Your class is read from your own record, and it changes as the record changes. Seven questions on the front door give a first reading; your games get the last word.
Strengths
- You see things through. Few players do.
- You know the whole game, not just the parts the story shows you.
- Your library is a list of finished things, and that’s rare.
Weaknesses
- A long trophy list has stopped you from buying a game you’d love.
- You’ve done a collectible run with a guide open and called it fun. It was.
- Moving on at 94% feels like leaving a tap running.
With the other classes
- The Wayfarer: The Wayfarer starts ten, the Ascendant finishes one. Trade lists: one knows what’s out there, the other knows what’s in it.
- The Lorekeeper: Both see a game through. The Lorekeeper stops at the ending, the Ascendant stops at the last trophy. Same game, a week apart, and a long talk after.
- The Tactician: The Tactician finds the route and the Ascendant walks all of it. A full clear with these two is a plan and then a finish.
- The Champion: Both keep score, on different boards: the Champion against other people, the Ascendant against the list. They respect the numbers and don’t understand the games.
- The Builder: The Builder’s best games have no end, which is the Ascendant’s bad dream. In one sandbox, one builds the base and the other earns the trophy for it.
- The Resident: The Resident goes deep in one game, the Ascendant goes complete across many. They’ll argue about which is the real way to know a game, and both have a case.

The road
On Home, your road is the game closest to every trophy, with how many are left. The quest is to finish one you started.

The other six
- The Wayfarer: You go to see what’s there.
- The Lorekeeper: You play for the story.
- The Tactician: You’d rather understand a game than beat it.
- The Champion: You play to win, and a loss sends you back in.
- The Builder: You leave something behind that wasn’t there before.
- The Resident: You stay long after everyone else has moved on.
