The Builder
You leave something behind that wasn’t there before.
What it is
Give you a sandbox and a free evening and something gets built. A base, or a town that works: the game didn’t ask for it, and that’s the point. You don’t finish these games so much as live in what you’ve made, and the hours add up without a trophy in sight.
How it plays
- Your most-played games have no ending, and you’ve put hundreds of hours into them anyway.
- The first hour of a new save is planning where things go.
- You’ll tear down something that works to build it better.
- Trophies are a side effect. You weren’t aiming for them.
- You’ve shown someone your base the way other people show their photos.
How we read it
- Many hours with few trophies to show for them: a game that’s a place, not a checklist.
- A large share of hours in sandbox and building games.
- A handful of titles with long hours and low completion.
Your class is read from your own record, and it changes as the record changes. Seven questions on the front door give a first reading; your games get the last word.
Strengths
- Patience. You’ll spend a week on one room.
- You see a system and know what it could become.
- The things you make outlast the games they’re in.
Weaknesses
- You’ve never seen the credits of your most-played game.
- “Finished” means you ran out of space, not out of ideas.
- Every new game is judged by whether you can rearrange it.
With the other classes
- The Ascendant: The Builder’s best games have no end, which is the Ascendant’s bad dream. In one sandbox, one builds the base and the other earns the trophy for it.
- The Wayfarer: The Builder makes a place and the Wayfarer is the first through the gate. One has a server, the other has a reason to finish the walls.
- The Lorekeeper: The Builder makes the town and the Lorekeeper writes its history. A shared sandbox with these two ends up with a founding legend.
- The Tactician: A factory game with these two runs like a clock. The Builder wants it bigger, the Tactician wants it right, and the compromise is the best thing on the server.
- The Champion: The Champion wants an opponent and the Builder wants a quiet afternoon. Not often in the same game, until the Builder makes an arena and the Champion fills it.
- The Resident: Both put hundreds of hours into one place: the Builder to make something, the Resident to stay. The house the Resident lives in was probably a Builder’s.

The road
On Home, your road is the game you’re still building in, with its hours counted. The quest is real hours in a sandbox: a session that leaves something standing.

The other six
- The Ascendant: The credits are the halfway point.
- The Wayfarer: You go to see what’s there.
- The Lorekeeper: You play for the story.
- The Tactician: You’d rather understand a game than beat it.
- The Champion: You play to win, and a loss sends you back in.
- The Resident: You stay long after everyone else has moved on.
